Answer:

If you have an active subscription paying with Paypal, the following will happen during the whole recurring payment collecting process:

  • On the date your EasyCron plan expires, Paypal will attempt to collect the recurring payment. If the collecting fails due to any reason (e. g. low Paypal balance, recurring payment limit, etc.), an email notice will be sent from Paypal (and EasyCron) to you.
  • 5 days later, Paypal will reattempt to collect the recurring payment. If it fails to collect the money, it (and EasyCron) will send an email notice to you.
  • Another 5 days later, Paypal will start a second reattempt. If this time it fails too, it will terminate the recurring payment profile, and send an email alert to you. EasyCron will also send out an email notice of plan downgrade to you due to the unsuccessful payment.
So your plan will only get downgraded 10 days after your plan's expiry date if there is a problem for us (Paypal) to collect payment from you.

If you have an active subscription paying with credit card, the following will happen during the whole recurring payment collecting process:

  • On the date your EasyCron plan expires, FastSpring (our credit card payment processor) will attempt to collect the recurring payment. If the collecting fails due to any reason (e. g. low credit card balance, recurring payment limit, etc.), an email notice will be sent from FastSpring (and EasyCron) to you.
  • 1 days later, FastSpring will reattempt to collect the recurring payment. If it fails to collect the money, it (and EasyCron) will send an email to you.
  • 3 days later, FastSpring will start a second collecting reattempt. If it fails to, it (and EasyCron) will send an email to you.
  • 5 days later, FastSpring will start a third collecting reattempt. If this time it fails too, it will terminate the recurring payment profile, and send an email to you. EasyCron will also send out an email notice of plan downgrade to you due to the unsuccessful payment.
So your plan will only get downgraded 9 days after your plan's expiry date if there is a problem for us (FastSpring) to collect payment from you.
